About your Day with Us:

School visits to Copsegrove Farm

School visits with hands-on learning on a working farm.

Visits are suitable for groups up to a maximum of about 30, for reception all the way up to year 6.

School visits days are tailored for each group, and are run by Kate Bankes, an experienced qualified teacher with a passion for outdoor education and farming.

Kate will discuss the programme for the day in advance with teaching staff. Full risk assessment is provided, and in certain cases limited funding may be available from Natural England. See our Teacher Resources page for more information and costs which typically range from £6 to £9 per day per child, depending upon class size and programme chosen.

Facilities are basic, but include a pair of composting ‘loos with a view’ complete with bucket of wood shavings which the children love, and hot water from flasks with copious amounts of anti-bac soap in plastic bowls for hand washing.

See our testimonials of teachers and children, from nearly ten years’ experience running visits to the farm, to see how fun and effective a learning experience your school visit to Copsegrove Farm can be.

New for 2019: Overnight camps have arrived…Camping1

Now we can offer the added option for an amazing overnight camp!

Oakridge KS2 children (Y3-6) have just returned from their third camping trip to Copsegrove!  We would highly recommend the experience to others because not only does it promote fantastic team building activities for the children at the beginning of the year but it has also enabled us to tie in our topic, which is cross-curricular and always exciting. This time we were tribes and celebrated the Wild West. A memorable experience the children will never forget. Thank you Kate.

New for 2018: Don’t miss our new themed days…

Vikings in the Wood

New themed day where children become Vikings, prepare soup and flatbreads and cook on the fire, make Viking costumes, shields and jewellery, crack rune riddles hidden in the woods, make and play in their longboats!

Enchanted Woodland

Another new themed day of fairies, elves and pixies, crowns and magic wands, games and a fairy feast by the fire.

A Woodland Christmas

And for winter visits, try our new morning of festive themed activities in the woodland.

See these new example programme on our Sample Programmes page.

  1. Hi Kate

Thank you so much for the Home Ed Viking Day that you hosted today; it was brilliant! Esmé loved it and came home buzzing. Such fun, hands-on educational activities in an idyllic setting – and great weather to boot! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you again for all the effort you put in, it was really appreciated.

  2. Hi there,
I run a local Brownie group and think they would really love a day at Copsegrove. Is this something you could offer? I wasn’t sure if it was exclusively for schools .
Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you.

  3. Dear Kate, it’s Andy West here, a Dad of 3 young children in Bussage.
I know of you & your wonderful forest school from school visits to your farm from Bussage Primary School & my children trying out athletics for a short while. For a short time I was a cub leader at Eastcombe & spoke to you briefly about arranging a bivvy/camp night at Copsgrove. I have since left the scouting association due to managing my health but in its place arrange adhoc outdoor activities for the children. I was hoping to arrange a bivvy/camp for a handful of children & accompanying adults for 1 night this summer & your venue is perfect. The dates I had in mind are the 6th July or the 26 or 27th July. Arriving early afternoon & breaking camp the following lunchtime. Does this sound feasible & if so are the dates available?
